How to choose the right material and craft for the badge?
- Nov 23, 2018 -

First, first understand the scope and use of the badge

Clearly understand the scope of use of the badge and the specific use of the appropriate technology and materials to properly reflect its significance, such as the badges worn by hotel staff, generally choose bright, gold-plated, stainless steel and other affordable prices can reflect the hotel's high-end quality Material technology, clothing class pays attention to the design of the badge, craft and material should be matched according to the specific clothes, company, travel commemoration, medal of honor, clear your badge use.

Second, the design badge

Design is a very important part. Sometimes a special design can only be adapted to some special processes. Although there are many ways to make each different design, there are usually some process restrictions. The more complicated the design, the more colors. The more, the price will be more expensive, and some may not be made now, although this is said, but good design can not be limited to the production process. Third, the process to understand the choice

The processes we often make are stamping, baking varnish, imitation enamel, silk screen printing and so on.

Paint process: bright colors, clear lines, strong metal texture, concave color paste pigment (Pantong color), raised places to do all kinds of gold plating, nickel plating, etc. (metal color) can be copper , zinc alloy or iron as raw materials, of which iron paint is cheap and good!

The surface of the paint badge can be covered with a layer of transparent protective resin (Boli), commonly known as "Epoxy" (note that because of the light refraction, the surface of the badge will be bright after the glue is applied), but the paint badge after adding the resin will be Lost the concavity.

Corrosion process

The bite plate product has the characteristics of delicate lines and beautiful overall color. It is often on the plaque. Stainless steel corrosion signs are the most common one. The concave and convex parts can be used for baking paint.

Imitation badge: This kind of badge is exquisite in craftsmanship, beautiful in color, exquisite in craftsmanship, smooth in surface; the surface is flat, (relative to baking paint, in fact, the metal lines on the surface of the surface are still a little raised with fingers, smooth The surface is polished by hand.) The surface of the surface can be gold-plated, silver and other metal colors, and the metal lines are filled with color paste pigment.

The imitation badge craftsmanship is similar to 珐琅 (ie, 珐琅 or cloisonne), and the difference between it and the 珐琅 is that the pigment used is different (one is a true enamel pigment, one is a synthetic enamel cream, a enamel cream, the corresponding price is also Cheaper imitation craftsmanship, the badge surface is smooth, delicate, giving a very high-end luxury feeling. It is the first choice for badge making process. If you make a beautiful and high-grade badge first, please choose the imitation badge.

Stamping badges: Commonly used badge materials are copper (copper, red copper, bronze, etc.), zinc alloy, aluminum, iron, etc., which can also be called metal badges. Among them, copper is the softest, most suitable for making badges, so copper pressure The line of the badge is the clearest, the zinc alloy badge is the second, and the price of the corresponding copper pressure badge is also the highest. The inscribed badge is more suitable for the zinc alloy die casting process.

The surface of the stamped badge can be used for various plating effects, including gold plating, nickel, copper, bronze, ancient silver, etc. The concave part of the stamping badge can also be processed into a frosted effect.

Printed badges: divided into screen printing, lithography. It is also commonly called the Epoxy badge, because the final process of the badge is to add a layer of transparent protective resin (Boli) on the surface of the badge. The materials used are mainly stainless steel, bronze. 2 kinds of materials. The picture on the right is the back effect of bronze. The copper or stainless steel surface of the printed badge is not plated, and it is treated with natural or brushed.

Screen printing badges: general graphics are relatively simple, screen printing can be used without color gradients. Screen printing is more convenient. If the graphics are simple, the price is cheaper than offset printing, but if the graphics have a gradient color, only the offset can be used. Sometimes you need to use the screen to imprint all kinds of small graphics on the surface of the imitation badge.

Slab printing: For complex patterns, rich colors, especially with gradient colors, like tourist attractions badges are best for lithography, the badges can be used to perfectly reproduce the scenery.

Generally, the lithographic printing will be combined with the stamping foundation, and finally the epoxy coating (plus a layer of transparent resin (Boli) on the pattern) will look more three-dimensional.

Because the surface of the imitation badge is flat, it can also be screen printed with various small graphics.

It is generally difficult to overprint the painted surface, but there is a way to add a layer of Boli on the surface of the painted badge, and the surface is smoothed and then overprinted.
